KARMAN SPACE PROGRAMME
Orion Launch
SEPTEMBER 25, 2023
The Karman Space Programme has launched Orion. This launch was the second of our launches in the NOVA series and has provided incredible insights for our VEGA and AURORA rockets. In the meantime, the team will complete the flight launch review and analyse the design, manufacturing and launch stages of the mission.

KSP welcomes Dr Ali Baghdadi
October 25, 2025
KSP welcomed Dr Ali Baghdadi - a Fortune 100 CEO, long-time friend and sponsor of Karman Space Programme to our Imperial College London, South Kensington campus. Dr Baghdadi met the team and saw our pathfinder rocket, VEGA, for the first time. It was a privilege to showcase some of the engineering completed by our members over the past two years. His visit left the whole team deeply inspired and motivated as we move towards our final integrated test campaign before shipment to the USA later this year. Cybral an AI and Cybersecurity company founded by Dr Baghdadi has already placed a crucial role in KSP's success to date in progressing towards our ultimate goal of becoming the first ever student group to send a reusable rocket past the Karman Line.

New UK Thrust Record
February 5, 2025
We successfully hot-fire tested our new liquid bi propellant rocket engine at Airborne Engineering's historic J1 test site. We demonstrated 7.1kN of continuous thrust in the engine's flight configuration; setting a new record for the most powerful liquid rocket engine built by UK students. After conducting 4 test totalling 18 seconds of nominal full-thrust firing, this test campaign fully qualifies our CACTUS engine for flight on VEGA. This milestone was only possible with the support of our additive manufacturing partner NikonSLM in addition to Aalbert Surface Technologies, ACCU, RS, Swagelok and Rapid Direct.
