Founders, Leaders, Builders.
KSP members develop exceptional entrepreneurial and leadership skills. Several have founded companies, backed by the world's leading startup accelerators. Three members have been accepted to Y Combinator.
World-Class Academics.
Our alumni continue their Master's and PhD studies in the world's leading institutions.
Roles
At KSP, our team is structured into three primary teams; airframe, avionics and propulsion. The teams are responsible for different components and requirements of the rocket.
-
The Airframe team handles the rocket’s structural design, including aerodynamic surfaces, recovery systems, and internal supports like engine mounts. Members work on Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), prototyping, and manufacturing with both composites and metals. Responsibilities also include structural integration, stress testing, and 3D printing. Strong mechanical design skills and knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques are essential.
-
The Avionics team designs and integrates the rocket’s hardware and software systems. This includes flight controllers, sensor and recovery boards, telemetry, and onboard cameras, along with ground systems and test setups. The work requires expertise in embedded systems, PCB design, and software engineering.
-
The Propulsion team develops the feed system, engine, ignition, and ground support equipment. Their work spans fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, materials, and mechanical design. Members handle everything from simulations to fabrication and testing, often building custom tools and setups to validate performance under launch-like conditions.
